The Mayfield Dinner Theatre’s newly renovated playhouse boasts not only brand new acoustic lighting systems, but also an expanded buffet complete with a chef-tended carving station.
On Golden Pond is a timeless, witty comedy that hilariously illustrates the relatable human moments from which life and love are made. Ethel and Norman Thayer return to their summer home for some much-needed rest and relaxation. He is a retired professor with heart palpitations and a failing memory – but still as tart-tongued as ever. Ethel, ten years younger, delights in all the small things that have enriched their long life together. Their summer routine is thrown for a loop when estranged daughter Chelsea visits with her new fiancé and his teenage son Billy in tow, leaving a reluctant Billy behind while they travel to Europe. Turbulent family relationships, the generation gap between young and old, and the difficulties of a long marriage all come to the forefront as they are forced to navigate each other. On Golden Pond is one of the most recognized cinematic and theatre comedies that speaks to all generations of theatre goers.

Harcourt House is one of only four public galleries, and one of three artist-run centres in Edmonton. We deliver a host of services to both artists and the community – and act as an alternative location for the presentation, distribution and promotion of contemporary art. In our exhibition programming we seek both emerging and established artists to present work that aims to engage. Harcourt House Gallery is open to the public Tuesday through Saturday from 10am to 5pm. The gallery annually presents a minimum of 10 five-week exhibitions, from local, provincial and national artists, collectives and arts organizations.

In 1861, Father Albert Lacombe and his Métis helpers constructed a log building to serve the new St. Albert Roman Catholic Mission.
This simple chapel, Alberta’s oldest building, became the centre of the thriving French speaking Metis settlement of St. Albert. Today the chapel has been restored to look much as it did in the early 1860s. Drop in to the chapel and let the historical interpreters take you back to an earlier time.
Interpretive guides lead tours through the chapel and the historic Mission Hill site and demonstrate activities and skills of the time. Education programs and special events are offered as well. Tours are available in English or French.

The Edmonton Radial Railway (as the system was known) had become famous throughout the continent because of this unique streetcar ride over the North Saskatchewan River, one of the highest river crossings by streetcar in the world (755 m long and 49 m high). The passengers’ view was both spectacular and exhilarating.
A ghostly walk through Old Strathcona, where we stop in front of certain buildings, houses, and shops that have reported ghosts, hauntings, murders, and mysteries. They are all true stories that come from area residents and business owners. The tours are hosted by a veteran storyteller with 12 years of experience. Held all summer long, the tours are a great outing for the whole family. The Old Strathcona Ghost Tour is 1 hour long.
